SDG&E Weather Station Wind Gust Forecasts

Four-day wind gust forecasts for weather stations in the San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) weather network. A mix of machine learning techniques and a WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model-derived wind gust algorithm are used to determine daily peak wind gusts and their associated times for each weather station.

usageInfo To access the gust forecasts (in CSV format) corresponding to a given month and year (e.g., January 2025), users can either manually download individual CSVs, or implement a web scraper for bulk retrieval. NOTE: All programmatic access is subject to the SDG&E data license, which users must review and adhere to before developing or usingany automated data collection tools. Datasets include (a) maximum wind gust for the next 4 days from present day [in miles per hour (mph)] and (b) the local time of day [Pacific Standard Time (PST)] at which the maximum wind gust is reached, are included in the CSV files.
