Satellite Fire Detections - GOES (Southern California)

The GOES-R Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) Fire/Hot Spot Characterization (FDC) product uses GOES-West (GOES-18) and GOES-East (GOES-16) geostationary satellites to provide near-continuous fire detection over Southern California and the broader Western Hemisphere. The ABI produces fire mask, temperature, area, and radiative power at 2 km resolution updated every 5–10 minutes, enabling real-time tracking of wildfire ignition and spread.
