Landscape Layers (LANDFIRE) for FARSITE

This IPython notebook downloads landscape raster bands (up to 3 years back) from the LANDFIRE Product Services API .These layers consist of elevation, aspect, slope, fuel models, and canopy properties that are required inputs for a FARSITE fire simulation. The user must specify a coordinate point and radius (in miles) to define an area of interest for LANDFIRE data. The user is also required to provide an email address for access to submit queries to LFPS. Execution of the full IPYNB returns GeoTIFF and ASCII files containing the landscape data, as well as corresponding Coordinate Reference System projection files. The ASCII files are ready-to-use for generating a .LCP file that can be input directly into FARSITE.
