creationMethod | For each day, start with the SMAP soil moisture value recorded. If no SMAP value is available, use the mean of SMAP data for that date from the past 7 years. Subtract a SMAP long-term mean and multiply by a topographic index that is min-max normalized. Add a ParFlow long-term mean to create a normalized SMAP estimate for the ParFlow-CONUS2 grid. Calculated soil moisture is bounded by minimum residual soil moisture and the maximum porosity for each ParFlow-CONUS2 grid cell. |
